Young people in the children’s emergency department (ED) and the children’s ward (Dolphin Ward) at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) had an egg-citing delivery yesterday (16 April) when local train operator, Greater Anglia, delivered 348 Easter eggs and activity kits.
Greater Anglia, encourage their passengers using the railway stations in Bishop’s Stortford, Harlow Mill, Harlow Town, Sawbridgeworth and Stansted Mountfitchet to donate Easter eggs, or other treats, for the children’s ED, Dolphin Ward at PAHT.
They have run this initiative since 2020 and nearly 700 eggs and treats were donated this year, which have been shared between PAHT and the Enders Touch Foundation.
Michael King, the Greater Anglia relief ticket office clerk at Sawbridgeworth and Stansted Mountfitchet, organises this annual event and was part of the team delivering the Easter treats yesterday. He said: “Our customers and staff are always happy to support the annual Easter egg campaign, and they haven’t let us down this year with a staggering amount of eggs and treats donated.
“It’s always amazing to see the smiles on the faces of young people when we make the delivery, and I want to say a very big thank you to my colleagues that help with the campaign, and to our customers for their support.”
